South Tyneside Home Care

South Tyneside home care has been operating since October 2006. We deliver care and support within service user’s homes  ie, personal care, medication administration, security checks, social time, domestic tasks including laundry, ironing and shopping.

We cover South Shields, Hebburn, Jarrow, Boldon, Fellgate and Whitburn

Personal Care

Our personal care services can help you with activities of daily living, which you would normally undertake for yourself, but are unable to due to illness, disability or frailty.

We ensure that we provide quality personal care services by:

  • Complying fully with the Care Plan developed with you
  • Ensuring a safe, sensitive, private and dignified care environment
  • Working with you to ensure that the services you are receiving meet your needs (any changes to your Care Plan will be made by discussing these changes with you first)

We can assist with all aspects of daily living tasks, including:

  • Washing
  • Bathing
  • Showering
  • Toileting
  • Dressing and undressing
  • Support with aids and appliances
  • Supervision of medication
  • Meal preparation
  • Cooking
  • Supporting to eat
  • Monitoring of safety

 

Preparation of Meals and Snacks

Your carer can prepare your breakfast, your mid-day ­meal, evening meal or supper and any other snacks and drinks that you may need during the day. Your carer will be able to sit with you while you have your meals for conversation or companionship purposes and clear your plate away if you wish.

All of our services are flexible and can be tailored to meet your individual needs.

Domestic Help

Our Support Workers are able to undertake the light duties that you would usually carry out on a regular basis such as:

  • Washing/ironing
  • Cleaning bath, toilet and shower
  • Cleaning kitchen and white goods
  • Meal preparation
  • Care of pot plants and pets
  • Vacuuming, dusting and polishing
  • Shopping.
  • Washing up
Running errands

 

  • Your carer can also help with managing your fuel supplies, and help with other duties, subject to certain restrictions which will be discussed with you when your Care Plan is drawn up.
